Kay O’Halloran is Associate Professor in the Department of English Language and Literature at the National University of Singapore where she teaches and undertakes research in multimodal discourse analysis, social semiotics and systemic functional linguistics (SFL).  Kay O’Halloran received her Ph.D. degree in Communication Studies from Murdoch University (Western Australia), and her B.Sc. (mathematics), Dip.Ed. and B.Ed. (1st Class Honours) from the University of Western Australia.

Kay O’Halloran is Head of the Multimodal Analysis Lab in the Interactive Digital Media Institute (IDMI) at the National University of Singapore.  IDMI is Singapore's first inter-disciplinary research institute in Interactive and Digital Media (IDM).

Kay O’Halloran is a member of the Science, Technology and Society (STS) Research Cluster in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, National University of Singapore.

The Fourth International Conference on Multimodality will take place in July 2008 in Singapore.  Details are to follow soon!
