AIMS & OBJECTIVES

Hindi 2 is a beginners’ module, and is a continuation of Hindi 1. It is an integrated course which will help students gain higher basic proficiency in the four skills (listening, speaking, reading, and writing), grammar, vocabulary for personal interaction and communication in authentic situations.

The objective is that by the end of the module students will have a strong basis in the grammar and vocabulary of modern standard Hindi and be in the position to start reading modern Hindi texts and be able to converse on a wide range of topics such as family life, education, work, development issues and culture and society in the Hindi speaking areas of North India.

 TEACHING MODES

Lecture-Tutorial Format

Classes will consist of lectures (language classes) and tutorials. Four language skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing will be developed through communicative activities in or outside of class. Grammar and vocabulary will be taught during the lectures and practiced during the tutorial.

This is a 100% CA module. Quizzes and tests will be done during language classes and tutorials. Students will have to submit assignments and homework regularly.
