(The Straits Times, Singapore)

"To reduce the spread of SARS, Singapore has adopted an Isolate and Contain Strategy. It involves comprehensive and practical measures, some of which are more stringent than what is being done in other affected countries. There is no need for undue alarm as there is no evidence at present of the spread of SARS in the general community. SARS is spread through close contact with an infected person. The majority of the cases here is still confined to family members, friends and close contacts of SARS patients, and hospital staff."
