Some Pointers

Like postcolonial theory and criticism, feminist theory and criticism addresses itself to a specific object, but makes use of a variety of different methodologies. Read Peter Barry's chapter with this in mind--we'll be drawing out two elements in particular--the notion of woman as Other, and the concept of écriture féminine--for slightly more extended discussions.

Nichols' poems are very approachable, but are also deceptively complex: you may wish to mentally compare them with Walcott and Bennett, and consider the extent to which they might also be approached via postcolonial criticism and theory.
