E-Texts of Interest for this Module
Supplementary Texts
Electronic Resources
These will be useful for project work, along with the physical resources in
the Library's Singapore/Malaysia
Collection.
Remember that you can locate other material not available in these bibliographies
through searching databases in the NUS
E-Resources Section of the Library. In particular, the following databases will be useful:
- MLA International Bibliography
The MLA Bibliography provides a searchable database of the contents of critical and theoretical articles and other publications concerning Literary Studies, including Singapore literature and culture Some of the articles will now be available online through NUS's subscriptions to e-journals, but the majority will need to be searched for in the bound periodicals section of the library.
- PERIND
Similar to MLA International Bibliography, but giving bibliographical references to articles about any topic concerning Singapore or Malaysia.
- Straits Times and Business Times If you know how to use these resources,
they are quite useful for gaining biographical and other information about
contemporary Singapore writers. Search using either Factiva or the Academic
Universe, since this will give you access to archive material from the last
ten years or so.
- Literature Online May carry introductory information on well-known
Singapore authors.
- Contemporary Authors Less comprehensive than
Literature Online, but a useful starting point.
