This will have three components:
1. Discussion Facilitation
In weeks 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12 I'll be asking 4 students to help focus discussion for part of the seminar. I'll make the assignments fairly early on in the semester. When it's your turn to focus discussion, I'd ask you to do the following:
Assigned Weeks:
| Week 7 | Pramoedya, Footsteps | 1. |
|---|---|---|
| 2. | ||
| 3. | ||
| 4. . | ||
| Week 8 | Zhang, Love in A Fallen City | 1. |
| 2. | ||
| 3. | ||
| 4. | ||
| Week 9 | Mda, Heart of Redness | 1. |
| 2. | ||
| 3. | ||
| 4. | ||
| Week 11 | Kuo, Two Plays | 1. |
| 2. | ||
| 3. | ||
| 4. | ||
| Week 12 | Boey, After the Fire | 1. |
| 2. | ||
| 3. | ||
| 4. |
2. Class Participation
This is always difficult to legislate: you don't necessarily get extra points for being the person who talks the most, but active participation in the seminar is important. My expectations are that you come to class with the reading done for the week, and with questions regarding it that you would like to discuss.
3. Attendance
Regular attendance is important, and will constitute a proportion of the marks for participation. If you can't make it for a seminar meeting, do try to let me know in advance.
