As you may know from your syntax course, the possessive pronouns behave, from a syntactic perspective, very much like determiners, as they have a tendency to occur in positions where determiners also occur. This consideration will not bother us too much here, as we are not doing a course in syntax. For the purpose of our module, possessive pronouns may be regarded as determiners or pronouns (or both).
