Course Description

 

This introductory module aims to teach students how to read texts with intelligence and imagination. It will also introduce students to a range of texts from different genres—poetry, fiction, drama, ways of approaching texts and evaluating critical approaches to them. The course will offer students a foundation in literary criticism even as it reminds them of the pleasure that avails in reading critically and imaginatively.

To teach students how to read literary texts closely and critically.

To introduce students to literary texts from the various genres of poetry, fiction and drama.
