Feedback on Project 5
General Comment
Interestingly, many pointed out how good and fair the
American judicial system was. Yet, it acquitted Miska. No one looked deeper into
that.
Good Answer
Student managed to see the connection between the two films, ie. The Music Box 'playing up' a foreign event and Come See the Paradise, 'playing down' a local event.
Hence, student did a comparison (or more like a contrast) between the two films.
Student, besides telling us that Jack in Come See the Paradise was representative of American ideals, also noted that he was alone in his struggles.
Student saw a more humane portrayal of the concentration camps portrayed in Come See the Paradise and cross referenced to the ones in Nazi Germany.
Poor Answer
Retelling of the stories in the two films.
Question is not "Why was there an "Americanization of the Holocaust". Some students went off-tangent on that.
Similarly, some students focused too much on "Trivilialization" and "Sanctification".
