  • Advisor, Elderly Cultural Village Design Project – Chang Gung Memorial Hospital.  This NTS 2 billion (approx USD$ 5,700K) project included the design of a nursing home, assistive living units and a retirement community of approximately 5000 households.  This project aimed to establish an appropriate CCRC (continue care retired community) system in Taiwan. Funded exhibition projects
  • Curators (with Dr Christian Boucharenc) for NUS ID, SaloneSatellite 06, Milan
    The NUS ID was among 22 design schools and academies around the world, invited to display the university’s design works at this internationally renowned exhibition, located at the brand new Rho-Pero fairgrounds in Milan. Nine student projects (Three were from Mr Toshiyuki Kita’s workshop) with prototypes and nine award-winning projects (displayed in the form of posters) were shown during the exhibition. 
  • Curators (with Dr Christian Boucharenc) for NUS ID, Saint-Etienne International Design Biennial 04.
    Three thesis projects were selected by the organiser and displayed at the event.

    Donn Koh – LeapFrog, ID 4121/4104 Design Thesis Project
    The newly devised iF concept award student competition, which was held for the first time this year, more than exceeded all expectations with approx. 2,100 entries submitted from 37 different countries from around the world.  Leapfrog has been selected the first 30 of the “best of 100” which shared a total of 30,000 euros in prize monies.

    Topic: EcoDesign: Form Follows Sustainability .  Organised by Volvo Car Corporation, this internationally acclaimed design award recognizes works with outstanding design concepts and innovative, future-oriented ideas — works that are dedicated to one goal: developing and enhancing an environmentally friendly, economical and sustainable SportsDesign. The VOLVO SportsDesign AWARD has become one of the most sought-after distinctions for industry representatives, designers and students.   • Red Dot Award: Design Concept 2007

    The red dot is the quality label for outstanding design. All design concepts that receive the red dot have been examined by a jury of international design experts. With a red dot seal as an endorsement, a design concept naturally attracts the attention of media, industry, investors and consumers.  The "Red Dot Award" is one of four most prestigious annually design awards (iF Award, Red Dot Award, G-Mark Award and IDEA) recognized by the industries worldwide.   • Winner, BraunPrize 2007 (€ 12000)
    Donn Koh – LeapFrog, ID 4121/4104 Design Thesis Project
    Organized by Braun, BraunPrize is one of the most prestige student design awards in the world.  The BraunPrize seeks to promote the work of young designers from all over the world, to recognise the work of design schools and to help develop a greater appreciation of the factors and criteria which make for good product design. There were 903 entries from 54 countries this year.     Tan Yong Kai – MoYo! Playhouse, ID4121/4104 Design Thesis Project
    The iF seal of fine design quality has become an internationally recognized trademark, serving as a buyer guidance tool in the world's markets.  There were 487 entries from 32 countries.  The "iF" award was only awarded to the top 20 concepts this year.   • Bronze Prize – IDEA (Industrial Design Excellence Awards) 2006
    Gabriel Tan and Wendy Chiua, Airwash
    The jury awarded 27 Golds, 38 Silvers and 41 Bronzes, for a total of 106 awards.     The Young Designers Award, the prototype of the current YADA, was established in 1988.  There were 300 works entered from 10 countries and only the top 12 entries have nominated in the product design category.
  • Top 10 winner, 2004 Photoreal Toy Design Competition
