Nias GIS Project
I have been involved in a GIS service project with my colleagues A/P David HIGGITT and Dr. Chen-Chieh FENG
from December 2005 to July 2006. We work with Tomorrow's Hope and Singapore Red Cross to compile GIS and GPS manuals and prepare basic spatial data for the local government in Nias, Indonesia to facilitate the use of geospatial technology in their reconstruction after the 2005 earthquake and tsunami. In July 2006, Dr. FENG and I also gave a seminar and conducted a GIS and GPS training for the local officials in Nias.
